Harvard Transportation Services transitioned to the next phase of its plan to support those who commute to and from the University. Through the end of this academic year, most commuter parking permits will be offered at significantly  reduced rates. This temporary reduction from our typical rates will better align parking and public transportation costs, maintain our regulatory agreements with the City of Cambridge, and uphold Harvard’s commitment to sustainability. Please note that parking rates and policies are different in the Longwood area and information can be found on the Harvard Medical School parking website.

To switch from transit to an annual parking permit, please review this tutorial. Cambridge/Allston employees are strongly encouraged to sign up for an annual parking permit online.

For those who utilize public transportation, the University still offers a 50% subsidy for MBTA passes as well as a number of other transit benefits. The MBTA’s Ride Safer program includes hand sanitizer dispensers throughout the system, requires all passengers to wear face coverings, and even provides real-time crowding information on busier routes.  MBTA vehicles and stations are also thoroughly cleaned and disinfected on a routine basis.

Online daily rates are reduced to $10 a day through the academic year. Point of sale transactions at the HBS and SFPG booths will be $10 a day. Click here to purchase online daily permits.

The new ZipBy parking app will be available to Harvard commuters utilizing the Allston Webster lot. It allows affiliates to book parking online. Printed permits are not required. Your cell phone Bluetooth technology will open the gates. The rate is $1.50 per hour. There are no time restrictions. A Cambridge location is coming this fall. More details will be available in November.
